An interplay of live animated imagery and specially composed live music. Circles and lines filled up the screen, accompanied by improvisations by viola, trombone and bassflute. Musiscope consisted of four parts, each breathing their own atmospheres: from silent black and white up to noisy and full colour, from melancholic up to amusing. Musiscope was the sum of (pre)cinema, object theatre, contemporary music and visual arts. A new name for Ida Lohman’s magic lantern company was born: Musiscope.

A magic lantern installation by Ida Lohman with iron wire, cord, (adhesive) plastic and an engine.
The spectator stood right in front of both the magic lantern and its projection.
Part of the installation was the squeaking and crunching sound of the drive.
The installation was demonstrated in ‘Arti et Amicitiae’ as well as during the Polderlicht-festival in Amsterdam and on Curacao.
